Patrick Mathieu

Patrick Mathieu was born in Haiti and migrated to New York City at the age of 11. He majored in Concert Dance at City College; professionally toured the United States, Puerto Rico, Romania with numerous dance companies; and was featured as dancer/actor in George Wolf’s production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle at The Public Theatre. Then the children arrived. In 2007 Patrick began participating in a creative writing workshop offered by New York Writers Coalition and discovered a writer within. He subsequently led workshops for NYWC, one of which was on Riker’s Island. He produced an anthology of works from that workshop entitled 7-Upper, published by NYWC in 2013. Patrick is currently seeking to publish his works as writer, photographer; and to screen his works as filmmaker.
