Simon Linington is an Artist currently living and working in London. Growing up on the Isle of Wight, England, his early encounters with the many souvenirs, made with the Islands coloured sands, made a lasting impression. Ever since, the two things, material and place have been inseparable. Simon says he now thinks it was inevitable he should have an instinct to express and document his relationship with his environment through images, objects and later text. Simon has exhibited internationally. Notable solo exhibitions include ‘La La Land’, WilliamBenington Gallery (2019), ‘In from the light’, Castor (2018), ‘Everything is medicine’, Lily Brooke (2017), ‘Everything can be broken’, Division of Labour (2017), ‘Now Showing…’, Manchester Contemporary (2015), ‘Out of the Dark’, Hayward Gallery (2015), ‘Dirty Matters’, Galleria Emma Thomas, São Paulo (2015). Evangeline too is Simon’s first published short story.
